An Lá Scoile / The School Day

Naíscoil Uí Néill
Drop-off: 9.00 - 9.30am
Collection: 1.20 - 1.30pm

Rang 1&2: 9.00am - 1.45pm

Rang 3-7: 9.00am - 2.45pm

Please note that children will not be supervised before 8.45am

Gaelscoil Uí Néill operates a one-way traffic system.  Parents are asked to enter via the black gates and exit via the red gates (through Gortgonis Park).


Éide Scoile / School Uniform

School uniform consists of a red geansaí (available frorm No.5 Lineside), white polo-shirt and grey trousers/skirt.
Naíscoil uniform is a bottle green geansaí and trousers (available from No.5 Lineside) and a white polo-shirt.

Busanna / Buses

Buses are available for the pupils to and from Dungannon and Killeen in the morning and at 2.45 p.m.

Club Obair Bhaile / Homework Club

Gaelscoil Uí Néill offer a homework club through the Extended School's Initiative.  This is available for children from Rang 3-7 and runs Monday to Wednesday throughout the school year.  Places are limited and anyone wishing to enroll their child should contact Pauline via the school office.

Cumann Iarscoile / Afterschool Club

Iarscoil Uí Néill provide an afterschool club which runs from hometime to 5.30 each day.  For more details contact Marie Galvin on 87741359.

An Naíscoil Bheag

Cairde Uí Néill run a pre-nursery which is available for children from age 3yrs.  It currently runs Tuesday - Thursday from 9.30am - 11.25am.  For more details contact Irene on 87741359.

Tinnreamh / Attendance

Attendance and punctuality are closely monitored by the Education Welfare Officer.  Parents should ensure that their children are in school on time.  However, if a child is late the parent should take them to the school office where the secretary will mark them in and take them to class.  Likewise if a parent wishes to collect their child from school early, they should go to the office to sign the child out.  A member of staff will then get the child.

Sos Sláintiúil / Healthy Snacks

Gaelscoil Uí Néill operates a healthy eating policy and only fruit & water are permitted at morning break.

Am Lóin / Lunch Time

Nursery & Primaries 1 – 3 : 12.00 p.m. – 12.40 p.m.

Primaries 4 – 7 : 12.40 p.m. – 1.20 p.m.

Please contact the school secretary to enquire if your child is entitled to free school meals.  For those children who are not entitled to free school meals, one can be purchased at a cost of £2.50 and parents are asked to send in the money for school dinners on the first day of the school week.

Every child is expected to practice good manners at all times during lunch time, both in the canteen and in the playground, and to comply with the instructions of all members of staff.
