Isteach sna Líonta / Back of the Net
7ú Bealtaine 2021
We all know what nets are when it comes to sport, or even fishing. But, do you know what a net is in mathematics? A net of a 3D shape is an illustration of the 2D shapes required to make that 3D shape. So, the net of a cube is basically six squares, the net of a cylinder is two circles and a rectangle. Why don't you have a go at one yourself - what are the 2D shapes that make up the net of a square-based pyramid?
