Introducing the concept of 1kg weight is always a fun day, with scales and weights and bags of sugar and even a reem of paper this year. As well as understanding the Maths, the opportunities for language development through practical activities is alwauys something the teacher keeps an eye out for e.g. heavy, heavier, heaviest, light, lighter lightest!!!
